Dentures are a core part of dental restorations, they exists since ever. When people experience some major teeth loss, dentures become one of the most popular options to replace teeth. Although I have seem patient that does not like to use dentures because certain reasons. That is why I am going to try my best to list some pros and cons of classic dentures so you can decide if that is what you are going for.
Let’s begin with the pros
The first thing to notice is how quickly the can be made. This is awesome because the patient does not have to wait long periods of time to get their dentures. Here in Dental Solutions Los Algodones we can provide a full denture in 3 days thanks to the dental labs we work with. They at the same time can provide many dentures from different materials, such as acrylic or porcelain. Although acrylic might be better because they are easier to maintain.
This shows us how versatile dentures are. They can fit many preferences and occasions. But do not let this fool you, it is not as expensive as you think. Classic dentures are really affordable, that is one of the points that make them great. Especially if you get them in Los Algodones Mexico, it is basically a crazy steal.
Also, classic dentures are easy to use. Patients just have put it on and off and voila! Some dentures use a gel or some kind of glue to make sure they stay in place. Some patients do not mind it, but other do. And here is where it begin the cons of having dentures. It is sad that everything cannot be just perfect sometimes.
Some of the cons
Classic dentures can be uncomfortable for some patients. If they are not really well made they can cause some pain too. This is why the impressions made at the dentist matter a lot. They can literally make or break a smile. Even so, as I was saying some patients do not like the look and feel of dentures.
Combine this with the fear of dentures coming out randomly and you got yourself 2 resasons to not go for dentures. Not every dental treatment is for all patients. Some prefer a more durable solution like bridges, partials, even dental implants. However, not everybody can endure the time of the other procedure to replace their teeth.
I know some patients who claim that they are too afraid of getting implants because it seems too painful or it takes too long. This is debatable, but at the end is a matter of preference of the patient. The case and point of classic dentures is to provide an affordable replacement for teeth loss. However, it may be too uncomfortable or feel cheap for some patients.
Another con is that they can be troublesome for some patients to maintain. They have to be cleaned very good to avoid infections. They have to be stored in away from cold or heat or they can deform pretty badly. So yeah, they may not be as convenient as other options. But what matters the most is that they can give patients a new reason to smile again to the world!
